Yá'át'ééh

Yá'át'ééh, Shí éí Arvin Trujillo yinishyé , Tsin Sikaadnii nishłį́, Bit'ahnii bashishchiin, ‘ÁshĮĮhíí dashicheii, Naakaii Dine'é dashinalí. Born in Farmington, NM and currently reside in Fruitland, NM. I am registered with the Gadii'ahi/To'Koi Chapter.

Arvin Trujillo is an independent consultant specializing in energy and energy development, economic development, governmental affairs, and strategic development.

Mr. Trujillo has held engineering, supervisory, and management positions within energy and utility corporations throughout his career. He also served as head of the Navajo Nation Division of Natural Resources and worked within the Office of the President and Vice President under three different administrations.

In addition, he led the efforts of a nonprofit economic development organization, bringing together experience in energy development, government affairs, economic development, and strategic leadership. Together, these experiences bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his candidacy for President of the Navajo Nation.

His work has focused on advancing initiatives that support long-term growth, responsible development, and opportunities for Navajo communities. Over the years, he has collaborated with both tribal and non-tribal communities while collaborating with federal, state, and local government entities. His experience also includes working with the United States Congress and both state legislatures of New Mexico and Arizona to help coordinate projects and initiatives aligned with the goals and priorities of the organizations he has served.

Mr. Trujillo earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Oral Roberts University and completed academic requirements toward a master’s degree in Mineral Process at Pennsylvania State University.

He and his wife, Cynthia Trujillo, have been married for 43 years and are proud parents of three grown children, each pursuing their own professional goals and aspirations.

Obtained approval for the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project & assisted in negotiating the San Juan Basin Water Settlement with New Mexico.

Expanded US 550 and US 491 from 2-lane to 4-lane highways.

Built the first hotel at Monument Valley - the first hotel built within a Navajo Tribal Park.

Extended the life of Four Corners Power Plant and Navajo Mine, generating $175 Million annual economic impact in the Four Corners region.

Assisted in lifting the Bennett Freeze by negotiating a settlement with the Hopi Tribe on natural resource and wildlife issues.
